At the Law Offices of Bryan T. Pennington, we provide legal help to people who have been charged with traffic violations. Traffic violations can be as minor as failing to yield the right of way, or as serious as driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. We offer resourceful and experienced defense to get the best possible outcome for our clients. We will work to mitigate the effects a traffic violation will have on an individual. We can help you avoid incarceration, increased insurance rates, points on your MVA record, driver’s license suspensions and other consequences of a traffic violation conviction.
If you receive a traffic violation, it is extremely important that you contact us as soon as possible. The law in Maryland has changed for minor traffic violations. If you are charged with only minor, non incarcerable, traffic offense, you must request a trial within 30 days if you want to go to court to fight the charge. Even if you want to plead guilty and ask the judge for a probation before judgment (PBJ), you must still request the trial within 30 days. It is important to remember to make copies of your traffic citation if you request a trial before you come to see Bryan T. Pennington. If you are charged with a serious traffic offense your case will automatically be set in for trial. A serious traffic offense will be marked on your citation as a “Must Appear” or “MA”.
